TRAFFIC IMPACTS - PLAN AHEAD

Current Impacts

Driveway / Travel Lanes Access

Crews have paved the north side of 4100 South from

Bangerter Highway to 5200 West.To maintain access to

and from 4100 South, residents within the work zone

should drive on the new asphalt pavement or dirt road

base until they reach the next side street or dirt ramp.

At that point, drivers can enter the travel lanes at a

place where the road heightsare more level with one

another.

Garbage and Recycling Removal

As of Dec. 19, 2019 residents on the north side of 4100 South should place garbage and recycling cans at the edge of the new curb and gutter facing the the new pavement, for pickup. This does not include residents who live between 5200 West - 5460 West, where the new pavement has not been laid.

Fence/Wall Removal

The 4100 South Reconstruction project is removing the fences and walls along the north side of the street in order to widen the roadway and make room for the planned park strip, street lighting, and upgraded traffic signals. The project team is placing temporary fencing on the affected properties while they work on pouring the curb and gutter. These efforts are currently underway between 4000 West and 4650 West.

Winter Driving

The contractor will remove snow in the work zone over the winter to maintain safe driving conditions.

Safe Pedestrian Routes

Pedestrians looking to go east or west on 4100

South should do so on the sidewalk on the south

side of the road and avoid the work zone on the

north side whenever possible. Parents and students

looking to reach Farnsworth Elementary should use

the designated crossing at Accord Way (4225 W).  As of

Jan. 30, 2020, an upgraded pedestrian crossing is now

in place!

Please use caution when walking or biking along

the corridor.

4100 South will be reduced to one lane in each direction through the end of construction. Drivers are encouraged to use an alternate route when possible.
