TRAFFIC IMPACTS - PLAN AHEAD
Driveway / Travel Lanes Access
Crews have paved the north side of 4100 South from
Bangerter Highway to 5200 West. To maintain access to
and from 4100 South, residents within the work zone
should drive on the new asphalt pavement or dirt road
base until they reach the next side street or dirt ramp.
At that point, drivers can enter the travel lanes at a
place where the road heightsare more level with one
Garbage and Recycling Removal
As of Dec. 19, 2019 residents on the north side of 4100 South should place garbage and recycling cans at the edge of the new curb and gutter facing the the new pavement, for pickup. This does not include residents who live between 5200 West - 5460 West, where the new pavement has not been laid.
The 4100 South Reconstruction project is removing the fences and walls along the north side of the street in order to widen the roadway and make room for the planned park strip, street lighting, and upgraded traffic signals. The project team is placing temporary fencing on the affected properties while they work on pouring the curb and gutter. These efforts are currently underway between Boothill Drive and Rancho Vista Lane.
The contractor will remove snow in the work zone over the winter to maintain safe driving conditions.
Safe Pedestrian Routes
Pedestrians looking to go east or west on 4100
South should do so on the sidewalk on the south
side of the road and avoid the work zone on the
north side whenever possible. Parents and students
looking to reach Farnsworth Elementary should use
the designated crossing at Accord Way (4225 W). As of
Jan. 30, 2020, an upgraded pedestrian crossing is now
