TRAFFIC IMPACTS - PLAN AHEAD
5200 West Intersection Closed to North/South Traffic
Crews will be closing the north leg of the 5200 West
intersection starting Saturday, Nov. 9 - Saturday,
Nov. 23. Drivers are encouraged to use 5600 West
and 4800 West as alternate routes. Click here for
more information on the closure.
The 4100 South Reconstruction project is removing the fences and walls along the north side of the street in order to widen the roadway and make room for the planned park strip, street lighting, and upgraded traffic signals. The project team is placing temporary fencing on the affected properties while they work on pouring the curb and gutter. These efforts are currently underway between 4000 West and 4650 West.
Crews have started paving sections along 4100 South. During this work, driveway accesses will be intermittently closed for a day (starting as early as 7 a.m.). This work will only affect driveways facing 4100 South on the north side of the road. Residents should park along sides streets near their homes.
To maintain access to and from 4100 South, residents within the work zone should drive on the dirt road base or the new asphalt pavement until they reach the next side street or dirt ramp (and vice versa). At that point, drivers can enter the travel lanes at a place where the road heights are more level with one another.
The contractor will remove snow in the work zone over the winter to maintain safe driving conditions.
Safe Pedestrian Routes
Pedestrians looking to go east or west on 4100
South should do so on the sidewalk on the south
side of the road and avoid the work zone on the
north side whenever possible. Parents and students
looking to reach Farnsworth Elementary should use
the designated crossing at Accord Way (4225 W).
Please use caution when walking or biking along
4100 South will be reduced to one lane in each direction through the end of construction. Drivers are encouraged to use an alternate route when possible.
